Read it with care: 49.5% of these transfers (733) is early resale — zero-km cars, returned leases and recent launches that change hands almost at once — not cars with mileage behind them. The other 50.5% (747) is genuinely used with kilometres on the clock.

Where does the resold car come from?

The 1,482 ownership transfers of 2017, split by how the car joined the Spanish fleet: registered new here or imported second-hand.

An imported car is resold much sooner once it is here: one in two of its transfers comes in its first month on Spanish plates (47.3%), against 2.5% for cars registered new in Spain.
