Read it with care: 61.2% of these transfers (4,112) is early resale — zero-km cars, returned leases and recent launches that change hands almost at once — not cars with mileage behind them. The other 38.8% (2,610) is genuinely used with kilometres on the clock.

Where does the resold car come from?

The 6,724 ownership transfers of 2020, split by how the car joined the Spanish fleet: registered new here or imported second-hand.

An imported car is resold much sooner once it is here: one in four of its transfers comes in its first month on Spanish plates (23.9%), against 2.0% for cars registered new in Spain.
