Read it with care: 63.1% of these transfers (9,704) is early resale — zero-km cars, returned leases and recent launches that change hands almost at once — not cars with mileage behind them. The other 36.9% (5,666) is genuinely used with kilometres on the clock.

Where does the resold car come from?

The 15,373 ownership transfers of 2021, split by how the car joined the Spanish fleet: registered new here or imported second-hand.

An imported car is resold much sooner once it is here: one in four of its transfers comes in its first month on Spanish plates (22.5%), against 1.1% for cars registered new in Spain.
